Cameron Haynes, MSW, CSW

Program Director

Cameron received his master’s in social work from the University of Southern California. He is an outdoor enthusiast, environmentalist, and social activist in addition to his passion for mental health counseling. He joins I Am Recovery as a well-educated professional who is combining his interest in human physiology with a holistic approach to therapy.

As a Marine Corps veteran, Cameron is acutely aware of the need for trauma-informed therapy. He is EMDR trained and takes a person-centered approach. Cameron also combines CBT, ACT, and solution-focused therapy into his practice, depending on the needs of his client.

Cameron has experience working with substance use/misuse, military and complex trauma, major life transitions, and disenfranchised grief. He works with adults and teens and is an ally of the LGBTQ community.

In his spare time, Cameron is a beekeeper. He practices what he preaches when it comes to “present moment” living. His bees know when he’s not present! Mindfully living his core values is a "bee worthy" way to be!

As an avid fly fisherman, you can find Cameron on our Utah rivers. See if you can spot him in the backcountry skiing a familiar ridge line. And when he’s not around town, Cameron’s tending to his garden and noisy chickens. His furry companions demand his attention, so Cameron is a regular on the hiking trails.
